Information for Colleges and Universities
We frequently work with local colleges and universities to provide hands-on experiences with avian science and conservation as students explore career options. For example, we have worked with classes to host habitat restoration field trips and we have provided bird banding training for students through our SOAR program at Coyote Creek Field Station. We sometimes have internship openings and job opportunities for early career biologists. To get updates, subscribe to our newsletter, follow our social media, and check our Employment page.

Birdy Hour Speaker Series & Science Talks
Many of our free virtual science talks are attended by students interested in birds and ecology, and professors have shared these as part of class assignments.

Workshops
We periodically host workshops on topics related to bird identification, photography, and more. We often offer a few scholarship spots to students from underrepresented groups to attend for free.

Volunteering
Many college and university students volunteer with us to gain field experience, help birds and the environment, and earn community service hours. We also welcome guest blog posts from students and professors.

Access to Data
Students and teachers may request data to analyze for classes and research projects. For example, you can request and explore our Colonial Waterbird data here. Check our Science page for more information.
