.. & these 2 made it happenKitty O'Neil and Bill Pelletier .. are avid local birders who live on Mt. Hamilton near San Jose, CA. Bill Pelletier grew up in Maine with Pileated Woodpeckers in his backyard. He has been a birder all his life. Kitty O’Neil grew up in Florida, but didn’t start birding until she moved to California and wondered if all the little black hooded birds on her deck were the same kind. (Yes, Juncos!) The two met on a bird walk, began to teach birding classes together, and were married two years later. Last October they participated in a local Photo Big Day orchestrated by Jerry Ting and were inspired to bring the idea to SFBBO as a fundraiser. Bill & Kitty attended a banding demonstration at the Coyote Creek Field Station and were immediately taken by the scope and focus of the organization. |
We appreciate the energy and passion that the SFBBO scientists bring to avian science, critical habitat restoration, and their educational outreach programs. We are proud to be volunteers for an organization that is looking out for the birds we love here in the Bay area" |
And there is still time to donate to SFBBO to support our avian science research.
