Celebrating Volunteer Sandy Moore!
Sandy began volunteering for SFBBO about 14 years ago, when our offices were still in Alviso’s old cannery building. She has a long history of helping to keep SFBBO running smoothly and is always a positive, cheery presence in the office. Sandy has done everything from helping with monthly membership mailings to organizing our voluminous 20 year-history in slides! She was a bird bander at our Coyote Creek Field Station for 7 years. Sandy explains that banding was “a totally different way of ‘birding’ and I loved it”. She currently holds the position of Membership Manager, volunteering a full day every Wednesday. Throughout the year she manages our membership database, mails renewal letters, records donations, and writes thank-you notes to donors - responsibilities that keep her quite busy during our California Fall Challenge funderaiser. Regarding her long history with SFBBO, Sandy explains, “I enjoy volunteering at SFBBO because I'm doing my little part to help our local birds, but especially because it's fun and I love everyone I work with!” SFBBO is so thankful that Sandy is part of our team!
