Compete to win the Mewaldt Cup
Are you a serious birder, an expert, a world-class competitor? Then this is your chance to prove it! Support the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory while competing for the chance to win the coveted Mewaldt Cup and great prizes! The Mewaldt Cup is named for one of the Bird Observatory’s founders, Dr. Richard Mewaldt. For 15 years, this competition has been the climax of the California Fall Challenge. The Cup is awarded to the team that finds the most bird species during a single day between September 10th and October 9th, 2011. Teams may bird anywhere in the state of California during their Big Day. Winners of the Mewaldt Cup will also received $500 worth of prizes.

The Mewaldt Cup will be awarded to the winning team at the Bird Observatory’s Annual Meeting on October 23rd, 2011. Meeting details to be announced. Registration for the Mewaldt Cup Competition requires a $50 donation per person. This donation also qualifies you for a California Fall Challenge T-shirt.
