Fundraising Competition

Join the Fall Challenge Fundraising Competition! Raise money for bird conservation and the scientific research and monitoring that leads to informed management of bird habitats.

Be a fundraiser for the Bird Observatory during the California Fall Challenge and you could win fantastic fundraising prizes. Share the Bird Observatory’s story with your friends, and share with them your love of birds and their conservation. Tell them why you support this mission. Then, ask your friends to support birds, too, with a sponsorship or a donation. The greatest reward you’ll receive is knowing you’ve done everything you can so support avian conservation. But do it for the prizes, too!

Fundraising Contest Guidelines
You win by raising the most money! Here’s how you do it:

1. Register for the Fundraising Contest. This tells us that you will be competing. This is free. Click here to register. (Or use the remit envelope in the Fall 2010 issue of the Bay Bird Review newsletter.)
2. Download these forms. They will assist you in keeping track of your sponsors and their donations. Or, fundraise using social media! See our Causes Account on Facebook ( http://apps.facebook.com/causes/330384/), or try fundraising through First Giving ( http://www.firstgiving.com/).
3. Tell everyone you know about the mission of the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory – the conservation of birds and with habitats through science and outreach. Spread the message to all you friends, family members, neighbors and colleagues.
4. Ask for their sponsorship of the Bird Observatory’s California Fall Challenge. Ask them to donate $500, $200, $50, $25 or whatever they feel is the largest gift they can give to avian research in our beloved San Francisco Bay Area.
5. As a special incentive, everyone who donates $50 or more receives a California Fall Challenge t-shirt!

Fundraising Prizes

Grand Prize
The winner of California Fall Challenge Fundraising competition will spend 5 nights at the Canopy Tower and another 5 nights at the Canopy Lodge in Panama! Inches from your bedroom window, the cloud forest canopy is riotous with early morning bird life. Awaken to a tropical chorus or motmots, toucans, and fruitcrows. Prize includes lodging, all meals, gourd transportation, taxes, 2 tours per day, and much more!




2nd Place
Our second place fundraiser will receive a 7 night stay for 4 people at one of these Caribbean Resorts: St. James’ Club on Antigua, the Verandah Resort & Spa on Antigua, Palm Island Resort on The Grenadines, or the Long Bay Beach Resort on Tortola (British Virgin Islands).
