Prizes and Awards

Levels of achievement:
Five levels of achievement will be awarded through the 2011 San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory Click Off. These levels are:

-People’s Choice Award: At the conclusion of the Fall Challenge, our Annual Fall Fundraiser, prints of the Category Winners will be on display at the Bird Observatory Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 23rd, 2011. Members in attendance will vote for the People’s Choice award.

- Category Winners: For each of the six categories, a single image will be selected by the panel of judges as the category winner. This year we have added an additional Youth Award.

- Honorable Mentions: Images within each category that are not category winners, but the judges feel deserve special recognition, will receive Awards of Merit.

-Youth Award: A special award will be given to the best entry by a person 18 years or younger.

-Staff Picks: Bird Observatory Staff will select five of their favorite images from all contest submissions. A special award will be given for each image selected.

Notification of Awards: All winning images will be announced and on display at the Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 23rd, 2011.

Judges:
A team of judges will be appointed by the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory and will select all Category Winners and images receiving Awards of Merit. The People's Choice Award will be selected from Category Winners. Members in attendance at the Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 23, 2011 will vote on The People's Choice Award.

A high resolution file of the category finalist images may be required for final judging and display print creation.  Photographers would be notified in advance if a high resolution file will be required.

Peoples Choice Award
:
Day in the Field with SFBBO BiologistSpend a day in the field photographing with a Bird Observatory Biologist at one of the Bird Observatory’s unique project locations.  Capture rare and dramatic images while learning from an expert about the common, migratory and/or endangered species and habitats found in the Bay Area.

Category Winners:
Blind Photography Workshop with Bruce Finocchio along with a weekend stay at the Ramrod Private Ranch in Monterey County worth $475!
