California Fall Challenge
September to October - California Fall Challenge is the Bird Observatory's annual bird-a-thon fundraiser. Organize your own Big Day trip or join a guided trip. Top fundraisers win exciting prizes! More information soon.

Annual Meeting
October/November - The Annual Meeting is open to all members and includes program updates, board elections, and CFC Awards. We also organize bird walks or invite guest speakers for that day.

Great Blue Heron Day
April - Bask in the springtime sun with a Great Blue Heron colony and its baby chicks. Learn about these beautiful birds from interpretive displays and get a closer look at a real colony with the help of Bird Observatory volunteers and their scopes.

South Bay Bird Fest
May - Celebrate our feathered friends at this all day event that includes family activities, presentations, and a street fair. The event takes place at the Environmental Education Center of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Alviso.

Volunteer Appreciation Night
Spring/Summer - The Bird Observatory holds this special event in honor of our volunteers for their dedication and hard work throughout the year. Thank you, Bird Observatory volunteers!
